Dear Jesus,
Help me understand what it means to be shepherded by you. “Lead us not into temptation.” What does that mean for me, what are you doing, what am I to be doing? I don’t want to be tempted anymore. I want to stay on the path. So, what does it mean to follow your leading so I avoid the dangers that are in front of me?
Brother,
I know you and you know my voice. I am a good shepherd to you and the others that place their trust in me. I will not lead you into temptation, I will deliver you from evil step by step. Keep watching me, listen daily to my voice. I know the dangers for you and I’m willing to call out to you and warn you. Block out the noises that are around you that make it difficult to hear me. Enter into that space I created for you to hear my voice. It might be still and small sometimes, but it is true and valuable. Listen and you will hear me. Watch and you will see me plotting the path around those dangerous areas. Your part is vital in this, you can’t follow my leading if you have your head down. Look up, I’ll lead you into peaceful areas where you can rest and know that I’m watching over you and providing all you need. I enjoy protecting my sheep and leading them. You are one of my sheep and I am dedicated to your care. I don’t get tired in my role as shepherd. I know the path and see long before you do the troubles that are ahead. Watch and listen to me. Again, you know me and my voice. More importantly, I know you and I offer a path that you desire.
Jesus, help me watch and listen. Guild me in your way and let my desire to follow you increase. You are the good and only shepherd. Thank you for allowing me to remain part of your flock.
Are you ready to move forward to what lies ahead, and press toward the goal?
I look forward to hearing from you.
